  • Notes
    • He attended Harvard University and after World war II in 1948 he graduated. During the war he joined the United
States Navy. From Harvard University he started at the law school at University of Virginia, from which he graduated in 1951. Later that year he became an attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice. In 1952 he left the Justice Department to manage his brother, John F. Kennedy, successful senatorial campaign. As young attorney
and chief counsel (1955-57) of the Senate Permanent Investigations Subcommittee, Robert Kennedy gained
national recognition in the investigation of teamster Union executives David Beck and Jimmy Hoffa (and other organized crime figures). These investigations were the subject of his first book: "The Enemy Within" from 1960.
Robert F. Kennedy managed John F. Kennedy's campaign for the Presidency in 1960. As the 35th President of the United States, John F. Kennedy appointed Robert Kennedy to the post of U.S. Attorney General.( His skillful performance surprised some). In addition to serving as Attorney General, Robert F. Kennedy was the President Kennedy's confidante and closest advisor. After President John F. Kennedy's assassination in Dallas, November 1963, Robert Kennedy resigned his cabinet post in 1964 to run for political office in New York. In 1968 Robert Kennedy campaigned against President Lyndon B. Johnson in the Democratic Presidential Primaries. The reason was that Robert disagreed with Johnson's policies. Robert Kennedy won four out of five primaries. He had just finished his California victory speech in Los Angeles when he was shot by the Jordanian nationalist Sirhan Bishara Sirhan. Robert F. Kennedy died the following day. It is likely that hasn't he being killed, he could had been the 37th President of the United States.
He was very dedicated to his children and every evening had prayers with them, each of them saying the Rosary.
