  Known as Robert the Immigrant. Robert Coleman came to Virginia from England, landing at Upper Norfolk Co. on the James River, March 2, 1638. His age and birthplace are unknown, although Sherry Nicols, author of "The Mobjack Bay Colemans", believes he is descended from Edward Colman of Suffolk, England. The last record mentioning Robert is in 1682 but his death date and place are not really known
