  His obituary in the 4-9-1964 LeRoy Independent stated he attended Cedar Valley Seminary in Osage, IA, and graduated in 1897. He taught country district school for several years before taking up farming in LeRoy Twp. He moved to LeRoy several years earlier. He attended the Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Board of Directors of the LeRoy State bank for many years. He died at his home. He was survived by his sister, Helen, and cousins.
