  His obituary in 1-10-1940 Cresco newspaper stated he was the eldest son of Thomas and Margaret Lewis. He came to Howard County at the age of 3 months. He was a graduate of Cresco High School and had farmed most of his life. He also worked for United Shippers of Cresco and Meyer & Co. in flour and feed business. He was a Methodist. His wife died in 1920. He was survived by his children: Leon and Lucy of Cresco, Archie of Osceola, WI, Mrs. Alta Kettleson of St. Paul, Frank of the home farm, and Mrs. Mayme Logsdon of Burr Oak, IA, 7 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Those attending his funeral included Mr. and Mrs. George Kettleson, and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gerner, all of St. Paul, Archie Lewis of Osceola, WI, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meyer and John and Helen Meyer all of LeRoy, MN, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Lemon of Detroit Lakes, MN, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Logsdon and Wayne Logsdon of Burr Oak.
