  • Notes
    • Sir Henry was created Baronet of Nova Scotia in 1638. He sat for Knaresborough in both the Parliaments summoned in 1640. In 1641 he was one of fifty nine members who voted against the bill of attainder of the illustrious Earl of Stafford.

The marriage of Sir Henry's niece, Elizabeth, daughter of his sister Eleanor, to Lord Rich of Kensington, eldest son of the Earl of Holland, accounts for Sir Henry's intimacy with the Holland family - for his being married in Kensington - and for his choosing to serve with Lord Holland at the first breaking out of the Scotch Rebellion.

abt 1618 entered as a Fellow-Commoner of Queens's College, Cambridge after schooling under M'Otby, Parson of Folson, North Riding. He left Cambridge for a trip to the "Continent" before graduating.
