    • John Rudolph Waymire (originally Wehmeyer) was an officer in the body guard of Frederick the Great.
      He was made a provincial governor. Left Hamburg, Germany for America aboard the ship "Leathley"
      with Father, Mother, 2 sisters, wife, and children. Landed Philadelphia, PA 19 Sept 1753. Settled in
      rural PA. Moved to Randolph Co., NC in1757.
      John Rudolph Waymire fought in the Battle of Dettingen in Germany on June 27,1743.

      (Note: In past times, kings of England were expected to lead their troops into battle: the last king to do so was George II in 1743 when, aged 60, he took the field for the last time, defeating the French at the Battle of Dettingen in Germany)
