  • Notes
    • There is another date for Morgan's birthday as being born in 1796. But the parents' marrige date was perhaps just calculated as one year before his birth. This would make better since for the birth order and child gap, and also for the parents' wedding bann of 1803. Perhaps there may be another morgan, an uncle or cousing, that was born in 1795. I don't know. All I know is that Heavenly Father told me Osborn of 1769 and his wife, Martha, are Alfred's parents. These notes are also found in Morgan of 1815, and Osborn of 1769.

Moved to Cocke County in the early 1800s. Moved to Jefferson County in the 1860s. (Cocke County, TN history).

While in Cocke County they joined the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. They appear in the minute records from 3rd September 1842 through 8 September 1860, which was about the same time they moved to Jefferson County according to land records. Alfred was a delegate for this church in 1844 and 1860. In 1844 the minutes stated as him having donated two dollars. Most donated around five which may (or may not) suggest his economical condition. He did own a around six hundred acres of land in Jefferson County.

M.C.B. was a footstone beside Alfred Ball. I think it's Margaret C, who died at age 20 in 1876 but maybe it could be Mahala. "This cemetery is located on top of a steep hill. It is unfenced, and open to grazing cattle. in addition to the above named people, there are twenty three other burials marked with uninscribed field stones.
