Found two more merchant Carpenters, William and Thomas, in Bristol c. 1350.
Found a very interesting John Carpenter in Lostwithiel, Cornwall for 1343.
Lostwithiel is next town to Liskard. I have accumulated a goodly numer
of Cornwall related material. The merchant Carpenters indeed lived there.
Cornwall was a merchant's stopover for trade to Gascony, Spain etc.
How do we know a Cornwall John had a Richard?
      BC.
MORE: RE: "Henry Carpenter b. abt 1300 of Cornwall - Hung 1348.
The king was abroad that year (1343) and his son Edward, Duke
of Cornwall controlled England.I will keep an eye out for Henry.
This Cornwall and Carpenter connection is more important
than I previously suspected. Cornwall and nearby places
were important stopping off places between London and Gascony, Spain
etc. Don't forget Nicholas le Charpenter of Fowey. We even have his ship'e
      name.
He is the earliest Carpenter I could find in the Cornwall area. He had two
      brothers Gilbert and Walter.
The three of them also traded in Lincolnshire, had residiences in Spalding.
The Edward le Charpenter group in London cross reference with them.
Nicholas and Gilbert can be found later in London and Nicholas on
      Fleetstreet.
