  • Notes
    • 5th Lord Ogilvy
one of the Commissioners who, on 10 May 1560, ratified the treaty of Berwick. When Mary, Queen of Scots, escaped from Lochleven, he repaired to her standard and, on 8 May 1568, signed the association in her defence. He was imprisoned till James VI took on the government himself. In 1596 James VI sent him as Envoy to Denmark, to assist at the coronation of King Christian IV. He died in October 1606 and in his will, proven on 20 March 1607, ordered his burial 'in the Isle of the Kirk of Kynnell.'
