Notes |
- Baba Ayub was an adventurer from Khorsan who founded the Royal Family of Chitral.
He is a descendant of Timur (Tamurlane) and is believed by the Chitralis to be a descendant of Genghis Khan (1162-1127).
It is believed that the Royal Family of Chitral is descended from Chughtay or Chagatai, the Second Son of Genghis Khan, who was the ruler of Kashgar.
Chughtay is also claimed as the ancestor of the Moghul Rulers of India.
This Genealogy of the Royal Family of Chitral from Baba Ayub down to Mehtar Aman-ul-Mulk is taken from "Tribes of the Hindoo Koosh" by John Biddulph, published in 1890 in London.
Another source is "The Language and Races of Dardistan" by G. W. Leitner (1840-1899).
