  • Notes
    • - Episcopal Methodist Minister

He was born while the family was on its way to Canada. Baptized by Rev. JohnStuart, St. George's Ch. of England. They lived at Westbrooke, Kingston Twp, Frontenac Co, UC. In the diary of John C. Clark, Queen's University Archives, Kingston, ON, CAN, he is reported to have died of a fractured arm. Dr. H.C. Burleigh's records, also at Queen's Archives says that James Powley died of 'quick consumption' while ministering near Lyn, (a small village in Ernestown Twp, Lennox/Addington Co, UC). Perhaps they are not referring to the same James Powley.
