  • Notes
    • Rafe (Ralph) Antrobus of Over Peover. There are many descendants of Ralph Antrobus of Over Peover, althugh none of them are mentioned in the pedigrees. Some remained in Over Peover, while others settled in different parts of Cheshire. Before long they were to be found in Wincle, Hale, and Styal; in Odd rode, Alderley, and Stublach; in Tabley; in Nothwich, Chester, and Frodsham; and occasionally farther afield, as in Lincolnshire. Most of them were husbandmen or yeoman farmers. There were also several who had taken Holy Orders, and received preferment beyond the limits of the County Palatine. Of Thomas Antrobus and his son Henry, the son and grandson of William Antrobus, nothing further has been ascertained; except that it was an estate in Antrobus and not the manor which was sold by Henry Antrobus, and that the sale took place towards the end of the rign of Henry VI (1422-1461).
