  • Notes
    • Pierre was born about 1340, the son of Charles II, comte d'Alençon, de Chartres, du Perche, and Maria de La Cerda, daughter of Fernando II de La Cerda, Infant of Castile, Lord of Lara, and Juana Nunez de Lara, señora de Lara y Herrera.

Knighted in 1350, he was one of the hostages sent in 1360 to England in exchange for Jean II 'the Good', king of France, captured at the battle of Poitiers in 1356. Pierre only returned to France in 1370. Under the command of the duc de Berry he fought in Aquitaine with his brother Robert against the English. They captured Limoges, but were defeated at Usson in 1371. He then fought in Brittany with Du Guesclin, and was wounded during the siege of Hennebont in 1373. In 1388 he accompanied Charles VI in an expedition against Wilhelm VI, Duke of Jülich.

On 20 October 1371 Pierre married Marie Chamaillart, vicomtesse de Beaumont, daughter of Guillaume Chamaillart, sire d'Antenaise, and Marie de Beaumont, dame de Beaumont-Le Vicomte. Pierre and Marie had eight children, of whom three had progeny, including his heir Jean I. Pierre also had a natural son by Jeanne de Maugastel.

Pierre died 20 September 1404 at Argentan.
