    • Notes for Robert Henry Boone:
      Sheriff of Fayette Co. WV. 1888-1892. He removed to Greenbrier Co. WV. in 1893 located in Irish Corner
      district on a large farm near Ronceverte. He was a state senator from 1921-1925. He was a collateral
      descendant of Daniel Boone, early pioneer. Surviving him are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Willard Poole, of
      Charleston; four sons---Walter of Mt. Hope; Thomas of Fayetteville; Frank of Charleston; Wheeeler of
      Cincinnati and six grandchildren. Funeral services, at the family home, conducted by Rev. A. F. Shomo, of
      the Ronceverte M. E. Church, were followed by interment in the family plot at the Spy Rock cemetery,
      Lookout, Fayette Co. WV. Active pallbearers were: C. C. Rodgers, Martn Rodgers, H. D. Rodgers, Burton
      Rodgers, Mark Gee, and Clark Humphreys. Honorary pallbearers were Wm. B. Blake, Sr. Wm. B. Blake Jr. C.

      Orbit of R.H. Boone

      The passing of Robert Henry Boone, near Ronceverte, Nov. 27, 1933, came as a climax to a long and useful
      life of one of the state's venerable citizens. Born at what is now Sewell, Fayette Co. Wv. Jan. 15, 1853, Mr.
      Boone was the eldest son of William Harrison & Sarah McDowell Boone, pioneer citizens of Fayette Co. he
      was educated at the old Lewisburg Prebsyterian Academy and at Eastman Business College, Poughkeepsie,
      N.Y.
      He was married Nov. 29, 1882 to Sarah Patton, of Greenbrier Co. Wv. with whom he celebrated his golden
      anniversary last year. Establishing himself in business in Fayette Co. , he became widely know and
      respected as Sheriff of that county from 1888-1892. Coming to Greenbrier Co. in 1893, he located on a large
      farm in Irish Corner, district near Ronceverte, where his life was exemplified by business integrity and
      sincerity of friendships. The high esteem in which he was held among those who knew and trusted him was
      evinced by his election to the State Senate, where he served from 1921-1925. he was a collateral descendant
      of the famous Daniel Boone, early pioneer. Surviving him are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Willard Poole, of
      Charleston; four sons---Walter , of Mt. Hope; Thomas, of Fayetevile; Franck, of Charleston; Wheeler of
      Cincinnati, and six grandchildren. Funeral services, at the family home, conducted by Rev. A. F. Shomo, of
      the Ronceverte M. E. Chruch, were followed by interment in the family plot at the Spy Rock Cemetery,
