Obituary notice: W.L. McCormick
A concelebrated Mass of the Resurrection for W.L. (Mac) McCormick will be offered Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City. Rosary will be recited Monday at Catron's Boulevard Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
McCormick died Thursday while visiting in Tempe, Ariz. He was born July 15, 1898 at Thurman, Iowa. He attended schools at Sidney, Iowa and came to the Presho area in 1922 and built on his father's homestead. He was married to Victorian Muldoo
Sept 16, 1924 at Sweeney. The couple
lived there for five years and moved to Iowa in 1929. In 1936 the family moved to Rapid City. McCormick was a contractor and stone mason and engaged in home construction. He retired about five years ago. He was a member of the Third and Fou
Degree Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his widow; one son, Frank, Rapid City; four daughters, Mrs. Rita Graowska, Rapid City; Mrs. Loydene Sacrison, Ossining, NY; Mrs. Delores Fankell, Denver, Colo. and Mrs. Mary Jane Mills, Tempe, Ariz.; two brothers Glen and Darrell,
both in California; four sisters, Mrs. Mildred Pierce, Superior, Mont,;Mrs. Cleota Grape, Sidney, Iowa; Mrs. Dorothy Fletcher, Springfield, Ore. and Mrs. Gail Moore, Dallas, Tex. Twenty eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
