    • Samuel S. Dye was a vet. of the War of 1812. He was a farmer and lived in both Wash. Co and Green Co. Pa. He moved from Pa. after 1796.
      Samuel Dye served in the Ohio Militia in Lt. Garner Bob co. and M.Gen Adams Btln from 26 Sept 1812 to FMar 1813. The family settled in Mia co, Oh very early. This info is in the New Netherland and New Amsterdam and N.Y. histories.
      Samuel Dye lived in Greene co. Pa after 1796. His father moved the family west of the Monongahela river to "Sparrows Nest" where Samuel grew up in an

      active family of 7 bros. and 2 sisters. Six of them were older than he. This was a frontier environment for the New Nation's expansion into Ky and Oh.
      Upon Samuel's death the title to Samuel's 160 Acre farm in Bethel Twp. SE 1/4 Sect.19, Twp 2, Range 9. MRS passed to his children,each with an undivided 1/5 interest subject to the widow's dower rights. Fielding L. Dye bought those rights between 1831 and 1835, then sold the land in 1838.
      Deed bk 8, pg 598 (4 Mar 1831) James Dye and his wife, matilda, Thomas Dye andhis wife,Leanna, sold this interests to Fielding L. Dye for $200.
      Deed bk 8 pg 598( 23 Jul 1831) Sarah and his husband Moses Frazee sold her interest to Fielding L. Dye for $100.
      This info proves the children of Samuel and Mary Dye.
