      To the Honorable the Judges of the Orphans Court for the County of Philadelphia.
      The petition of Mary Benson, a minor, child of William Benson late of the County of Philadelphia deceased, by her next friend and aunt Elizabeth McBride respectfully represents that the petitioner is under the age of fourteen years and has no person legally authorized to take charge of her person and estate. She therefore prays the court to appoint Arthur McBride her guardian for that purpose.
      And she will ever pray.

      Elizabeth McBride being duly sworn according to law deposes and says that the facts contained in the foregoing petition are true. Deponent further says that the only permanent property that will likely come into the hands of of Arthur McBride, the person suggested in the foregoing petition for guardian, will be about the sum of one hundred dollars, and that the said Arthur McBride is neither the executor nor administrator of the estate out of which said fund will be realized.

      And now October 18th 1879 the court, upon reading and considering the petition order and decree that the prayer of the same be granted and appoint Arthur McBride the guardian of the person and estate of Mary Benson.
      Security to be entered in the sum of $150 to be approved by the clerk.

      In Re: Estate of Mary Benson, minor child, above the age of Fourteen years, of William Benson, deceased.
      The Petition of the said Mary Benson having been presented to the Court on the 16th day of December 1882 praying to be permitted to make choice of a suitable person as Guardian of her person and estate, she being over fourteen years of age, and she having the same day appeared in open Court and made choice of William G. Nickels as such Guardian, the Court thereupon directed a citation to be issued to Arthur McBride, Guardian of the person and estate of said minor, appointed by the Court while she was under Fourteen years of age, commanding him to show cause why the said minor should not be allowed to make choice of a Guardian as prayed for in her said petition, said Citation being returnedable Saturday, December 30th 1882. Now to wit, December 30th 1882, it appearing to the Court that the said Citation was duly issued and served, as appears by reference to the Citation and Return here annexed, and no answer having been made thereto as cause shown why the prayer of said petition should not be granted and it appearing to the Court that the said Mary Benson, the Petitioner, is above the age of Fourteen years, and that the said William G. Nickels, the person hereto fore chosen by her as Guardian, is a suitable person to act as such Guardian, and that the amount likely to come into the hands of said Guardian will not exceed the sum of One hundren and fifty dollars, the Court approve of the choice of said petitioner and appoint the said William G. Nickels Guardian of the person and estate of the said Mary Benson minor child aforesaid. Security to be entered in the sum of Three hundred dollars.

      That the petitioner was born November 23rd 1868 in the city of Philadelphia, and now resides in Jackson Street, Mount Vernon, Manayunk, Philadelphia; that on the 18th day of October A.D. 1879 your honorable Court appointed Arthur McBride Guardian of her person and estate. That your petitioner being now over 14 years of age desires and prays the Court that she may be permitted to make choice of a suitable person to take charge of her person and estate. Your petitioner further says that the amount likely to come into the hands of said Guardian will not exceed One hundred and fifty dollars.
