Notes |
- enrolled at Radley.
After that he went to Reading University where he read horticulture and he then started a nursery gardener's business at Kingsbridge in Devon.
In 1914 he left this business and joined the Cheshire Regiment, becoming a Captain.
He was twice wounded in combat.
After the War he continued with horticulture at Aldersey Hall. The Hall was requisitioned by the government war service during World War II and left in such a bad state that Ralph had to have it pulled down when the war was over.
After Ralph died, the Aldersey Hall was sold.
