  • Notes
    • James bought his father's homestead in 1742. He was a farmer and medical practioner (first in the county). His daybook of medical receipts shows him to have used the common practice of blood-letting in almost all medical situations. He was known for his generosity to the poor and seemed to be a well loved person. He and his wife died just six days apart. They were the parents of eight children. (C-1509b)
